Recent events in Egypt and the Middle East: Background, direct observations and a positive analysis
Carolyn M. Youssef is an associate professor in the College of Business at Bellevue University, a core faculty member in the Ph.D. in Human Capital Management program, and a senior research associate of the Human Capital Lab. She is the co-author of Psychological Capital: Developing the Human Competitive Edge (Oxford University Press, 2007). Her work on developing and managing positivity in the workplace has been extensively published in and cited by top tier journals and prestigious publications. Originally from Egypt, Carolyn earned her Bachelor's and her M.B.A. from the American University in Cairo; worked in various capacities with global organizations such as Unilever, Shell Oil, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and Thomas Cook; moved to the United States a decade ago to earn her Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska; and became an American Resident in 2007 (e-mail: [email protected]).
